NVP Energy’s unique technology is ideally suited to treating wastewater from bottling plants and can achieve up to 80% removal of COD from the wastewater. The technology treats wastewater at ambient temperatures and can even treat wastewater as low as 4°C meaning there is no heat input required.
For Bottling plants the main pollutant found in the wastewater stream is typical BOD and COD due to dissolved organics in the wastewater stream, typically TSS is relatively low in these wastewater streams. The recovered bottles are usually washed in alkaline and acid detergents removing any remaining labels and residual beverages, the volume of wastewater produced is generally 10 times the amount of beverages produced.
